A unique musical collaboration between two Southwestern Ontario cities took place in Windsor in late February 2019, giving the city a taste of the upcoming Juno Awards, which were held in London later that month. The Junos Host City Music Exchange tour brought discussions, education, development and music across the area, wrapping up with a showcase at Olde Walkerville Theatre in Windsor.
The showcase featured four artists: Windsor’s Crissi Cochrane and The Brandy Alexanders, along with London locals Averages, as well as Charlie Weber and the Glorious Failures.

The annual Juno Awards were hosted on March 17, 2019, in London at Budweiser Gardens, bringing a blast of big Canadian music. It was broadcast live on CBC.
519 sent photographer Charlie O’Brien to check it out. Although disappointed no more than 60 people turned out to the free event, he reported that the performances were outstanding.
