Heavy MONTRÉAL 2019: Slayer's Farewell & A Stacked Lineup Revealed

Canada’s biggest and best hard rock and heavy metal festival is back in 2019. Following much fan speculation and circulating rumours after Slayer accidentally released Heavy MONTRÉAL’s full lineup, festival organizers, evenko, officially revealed its summer lineup in an official release. And it’s killer!

Confirmed performers include acts like Ghost, Godsmack, Evanescence, Slash, Anthrax, Steel Panther, In This Moment, Killswitch Engage, Clutch, Gamma Ray, Beartooth, Hatebreed, Skillet, Atreyu, Quiet Riot, Watain, Kataklysm, Despised Icon, Municipal Waste and Metal Church.

Other acts scheduled include All That Remains, Fu Manchu, Beast in Black, Knocked Loose, Cancer Bats, Stick to Your Guns, Terror, Counterparts, Fever 333 and more.

Heavy MONTRÉAL was founded in 2008 and has been held every year with the exception of 2009 and 2017. Acts to have graced the stage at the festival have included KISS, Mötley Crüe, Iron Maiden, Alice Cooper, Rob Zombie and Metallica. This year will be Slayer’s third appearance at the festival over the years and may very well be the band’s last official concert held in Canada on their final world tour.

Heavy MONTRÉAL runs July 27-28, 2019 at Parc Jean-Drapeau. General Admission passes are $175 CAD while Gold passes are $320 CAD. More information and tickets at HeavyMontreal.com.

Editor's Note
At the time of this article's original publication in April 2019, All That Remains guitarist Oli Herbert had passed away in October 2018. Slayer concluded their original final world tour in 2019, making their Heavy MONTRÉAL appearance one of their last Canadian shows of that stage in their career.
