London’s Rock The Park 2026 edition almost didn't happen. An orange air quality warning choked out Wednesday night, shutting down the festival grounds after just the openers and leaving headliners The Lumineers in the dark. Organizers were forced to pull the plug on Thursday entirely just before showtime, but by Friday the skies above Harris Park cleared up enough to salvage the weekend.
Friday’s retro reggae and hip-hop night proceeded with a delayed start. Jamaican singer Omi kicked things off at 5:45 p.m. with a lively set that finally got the early crowd moving. Afroman followed, stepping onto the stage in an American flag suit and oversized sunglasses. He strapped on a marijuana leaf-shaped guitar for the opening track before leaning heavily on his 2001 hit "Because I Got High."
Fat Joe took the stage next looking noticeably slimmer. He spent entirely too much time complaining about the Canadian wildfire smoke between tracks, which dragged the pacing of his set. "I thought I was going to get to sleep in," he tells the crowd, referencing the string of cancelled shows across the province. The smoke truly wasn't bad from the pit and his vocal delivery still packed enough punch to amp up the energy of the park.
Shaggy proved to be the standout of the evening. Using the signature vocal cadence he originally developed by mocking military drill instructors, he worked the audience with precision. "You know the rules, women to the front, men to the back," he says, teasing the crowd by counting off the men and women in the front rows.
Nelly and his brother City Spud closed Friday night. They hit the stage in custom Rock The Park T-shirts with the sleeves torn off and opened with a jagged cover of the Jagged Edge track "Where The Party At." Nelly ran through a massive 23-song set that pushed past midnight. The sub-bass frequencies rattled the temporary fencing during "Hot in Herre" to cap off a massive night of live music.
Explosive stage production and thick, overdriven guitar tones kept the crowd engaged right until the final encore, proving the festival could easily survive its disastrous start.
A thunderstorm warning threatened Saturday's rock lineup, but the weather passed with nothing more than a sprinkle. Dan Finnerty got the damp crowd going with his comedy group The Dan Band. Best known for their appearances in the movies Old School and The Hangover, the band delivered campy, aggressive covers of female-fronted tracks like "Total Eclipse of the Heart" and "Fame." Their goofy, synchronized choreography remains a strange but highly effective crowd-pleaser.
Ice Nine Kills brought the theatricality next. Owing a massive debt to the stagecraft of Alice Cooper, their set is equal parts heavy metal and slasher film. The performance opened with a band member strapped to a fridge cart in a straitjacket and Hannibal Lecter mask. By the middle of the first song, the character was pantomiming the murder and devouring of a stagehand. The absolute sensory overload works well, actively masking some of the muddier guitar tones in the live mix.
I Prevail stepped up with a heavy industrial stage rig and enough pyro to singe the eyebrows off the front row. The Southfield, Michigan metalcore act had a tough slot to fill but they plowed through 17 songs with raw, blistering aggression. Guitarist Dylan Bowman has fully settled into the void left by vocalist Brian Burkheiser's departure in 2025. Their dual vocal attack cut through the evening air perfectly, earning massive crowd responses for their heavy covers of Metallica’s "Sad But True" and Taylor Swift’s platinum hit "Blank Space."
Three Days Grace closed the festival to prove exactly why they still anchor Canadian rock radio. Tearing through hits like "Animal I Have Become", "Pain", "Never Too Late" and "Riot", they also dropped in newer cuts from their Alienation era. The band's chemistry is undeniably tight. Explosive stage production and thick, overdriven guitar tones kept the crowd engaged right until the final encore, proving the festival could easily survive its disastrous start.
